BETA CAE Systems announces the release of
the v24.0.2 of its software suite
About this release
We announce the launch of the second bug-fix release of v24.0.x series, including a range of upgrades and performance improvements for your tasks, workflows, and processes.
These, along with the already existing features, unlock further simulation potential in design and analysis, aiming at assisting you in a hassle-free update to the newer series.
Α detailed list of the new features and improvements follows.

Known issues resolved in ANSA
Model Browser
Model Browser contents would unnecessarily refresh, resulting in loss of focus, expand/collapse state, sorting, and inessential filtering.
When a default filter was active (e.g., filter "visible") and a new Part was created, all Parts/ Groups would be visible, even though the filter was still active.
Data Management
When saving a Group in DM using the "Save inner parts" option, ANSA would fail to detect conflicts between Parts having "blank" and "common", as a representation.
The import of RLI would not be successful when the selected file was placed in any subdirectory of the DM Root.
Connections & Assembly
By executing "Realize" on Adhesive Lines, abrupt termination would occur when the "Cut-Off Adhesive Elements" option was activated, and the Adhesive was passing over holes.
Topo
Ctrl+V would not paste a value in the Curves' menu relative fields with direct keyboard entry.
Volume Mesh
Unexpected termination could occur in the following cases:
-When opening the Mesh Parameters of a Hextreme Area in Octree.
- When applying the function “Redefine” on volumes without boundary.
Feature Manager
ANSA would abort during feature recognition of fasteners or stamps if the setting "Decks> Copied entity id" had a value other than its default.
Decks
An unexpected termination would occur, while working with Laminate Tool, if the "ringe > LAMINATE [Layers]" option became active.
ANSA would cease operating when switching the type from RBODY/MTOCO to PAM MTOCO, by UTIL [Change Type> 1-D Entities] execution.
The exported MED HDF5 file format could not be recognized when using Code Aster through SALOME 9.7.0.
Scripting
By executing the function base.OptimizeSetContents(), unexpected software abortion could occur in models with 2nd order elements.
Plugins
Referencing Squeak and Rattle> Eline Method, unexpected termination of the tool could occur during the realization of E-lines, when Surface Stripe was selected as definition method.
Concerning ECAD Importer, abrupt software abortion could occur, when using trace mapping with layer features that were smaller than a single pixel of the discretization canvas.
For more details about the new software features, enhancements and corrections please, refer to the Release Notes document.
Known issues resolved in EPILYSIS
General
Unexpected termination could occur under the following circumstances:
- In AMLS when fluid grids existed in the model without fluid elements.
- During topology with stress constraints and analysis as MODES, DFREQ or MFREQ.
- In specific cases after MECHFIX operation.
For more details about the new software features, enhancements and corrections please, refer to the Release Notes document.
Known issues resolved in META
Read Results
Abrupt termination could occur when reading Ensight results on bar elements.
Regarding Nastran, the available ESE and EKE results would not be shown correctly in GUI when reading 2D results from .pch files.
Regarding Abaqus, META could not read kinematic/distributed couplings when reading geometry from .odb files. Also, unexpected termination could occur while executing the command "read geom contents pids shell all" for an Abaqus .odb file, as well as when loading results at many layers.
META would unexpectedly cease operating when reading OptiStruct H3D files with PSOLID elements on Linux OS.
Software abortion could also take place when reading Adams .cmd files on Windows OS.
States & Animation
META could become unresponsive when animating forward once, using the command " animation for1".
Annotations
Focusing on Filters, unexpected termination could occur when using the advanced option for filtering the Annotation's list. Also, Edit could not work when picking multiple annotations from screen.
Moreover, an invalid Annotation object was created by moving an Annotation to another window or page via Scripting. That invalid Annotation object could possibly lead to an unexpected termination.
Concerning Text, META would unexpectedly cease to respond in case the Scalar Data Name was requested while no scalar results were loaded. Abrupt termination would also take place when setting the number of rows to add a table in annotation's text.
Math operation in Field Data
Synchronization of loaded states in Section Forces tool with states loaded in the States window did not work as expected.
Managing Curve Data
Force result was not available when loading a .pch file.
Report
Unexpected termination could occur when saving a spreadsheet that contained unsupported conditional formatting.
File Export
META would stop operating when an invalid path would be given to ATFX output.
In addition, when saving geometry in LS-DYNA format, "*END" was not added at the end of the file.
For more details about the new software features, enhancements and corrections please, refer to the Release Notes document.
Known issues resolved in KOMVOS
Configuration
Unexpected termination would occur, in case no Mime Types for files had been registered in the SPDRM back-end, and the user pressed Next Iteration.
Furthermore, the <profile_name>.db settings file would not be read when KOMVOS was launched connected to an SPDRM backend configured with only one Settings Profile.
Scripting
An SPDRM action that was configured to run a script with input arguments would lead to an error message although the actions were executed normally.
For more details about the new software features, enhancements and corrections please, refer to the Release Notes document.
Known issues resolved in FATIQ
GUI
Unexpected termination would occur when deleting multiple tasks, whereas Fields: Start, End, Offset, Scale and Repeats of Assign Loads window in time domain would falsely accept blank, as a value.
Calculations
Natural logarithm was executed instead of log10 for results Log of Damage and Log of Life.
For more details about the new software features, enhancements and corrections please, refer to the Release Notes document.
Compatibility and Supported Platforms
ANSA files saved by all the first and second point releases of a major version are compatible to each other. New major versions can read files saved by previous ones but not vice versa.
META Project files saved from version 24.0.2 are compatible and can be opened by META version 16.0.0 or later.
Support for Mac OS has been discontinued.
Support for 32-bit platforms has been discontinued for all operating systems.

What to download
All files required for the installation of this version reside in the folders named "BETA_CAE_Systems_v24.0.2", "KOMVOS_v24.0.2", and "FATIQ_v24.0.2", and are
dated as of February 8, 2024.
These files should replace any pre-releases or other files downloaded prior to that date.
The distribution of this version of our pre- and post-processing suite is packaged in one, single, unified installation file, that invokes the respective installer and guides the procedure for the installation of the required components.
For the installation of the software on each platform type, download from the respective folders, the .sh file for Linux or the .msi file for Windows.
In addition to the above, optionally, the META Viewer is available to be downloaded for each supported platform.
The tutorials and the example files reside in the folder named "TUTORIALS". This folder includes a complete package, and one with only the updated files.
The Abaqus libraries required for the post-processing of Abaqus .odb files are included in the installation package and can be optionally unpacked.
Earlier software releases are also available in the sub-directory called "Previous_Versions" or in a folder named after the product and version number.
